Our Story
Rooted in Kentucky. Driven by Connections.
I fell in love with Kentucky through bourbon, but stayed for the people, the stories, the back roads, the hospitality, and the way one good pour can turn into a great conversation. Sipping in the South grew from wanting guests to experience Kentucky the way I came to know it, personally.Â
Sipping in the South
"I didn't just fall in love with bourbon. I fell in love with the stories behind it."
Angelique Rison, Founder
Founded With Purpose
My journey into Kentucky bourbon started behind the wheel, driving visitors from distillery to distillery and listening to their questions, curiosity, and excitement.
I quickly realized they wanted more than transportation. They wanted someone who could explain bourbon, introduce them to the people, and help them experience Kentucky in a more personal way.
That became Sipping in the South. What started with bourbon tours grew into education, private experiences, thoughtful planning, and a deeper way to experience Kentucky.
Today, Sipping in the South is recommended by American Express and bookable through Marriott Bonvoy, Trip Advisor and Airbnb.

Our Philosophy
Story Before Spirits
Every place has a story. We connect the dots so you feel the heart of Kentucky.
Participation Over Observation
You taste, blend, compare, and ask questions, never just stand behind a tour guide.
Relationships Over Crowds
Smaller distilleries mean real conversations with the owners, distillers, and craftspeople.
Depth Over Checklists
We're not racing to eight stops a day. We help you truly understand bourbon and Kentucky.
Moments Over Miles
Success isn't how many stops you make. It's the moments you'll talk about for years.
We Know Bourbon & the Back Roads
From allocated pours to the hidden two-lane routes between them, we know the whiskey and the way there.
